heavy vibration under load
heavy vibration under load
This started happening i would say about 2 months ago. Started happening right after i replaced the main motor mount. Getting a heavy steering vibration and it pretty much vibrates everything underload only. i know my clutch has been a little abused and trying to rule that part out. cause i don't see it happening from that. can this be the stabilizer mount at the top of the motor. ooo...btw the shifter also vibrates agressivley under load. please help....i am considering just gettin all the powerflex mounts....as anyone used these yet.....they are replacemts right they don't work with the factory mount. And my dam seats are squeeking....lol.....what kinda lube do you guys use to get rid of the dam noise. thanks guys.
I suspect the motor mount you replaced. Last thing touched is first thing suspect when symptoms appear.
Motor mounts are tricky. I replaced a pair when I reinstalled a motor I rebuilt (a V8 pickup motor).
In installing the engine the engine mounts didn't quite line up but I levered things around and got the engine down on the mounts and the nuts on and torqued down.
Time passes. Pulled into a driveway and felt an odd thump and noticed engine running a bit rough. Pulled on into parking lot, stopped truck, opened hood and found engine mount had failed and engine had "hopped" off loose mount and was down in the engine bay.
I borrowed a jack and jacked engine up and over back on mount and managed to limp home where I replaced the mount with a new one.
The mount rubber block was under some torsional stress because of my misinstallation months before and this stress caused the rubber to separate from the plates that had bolts through them which fastened the mount to the chassis and the mount to the engine block.
Engine mounts are tricky... to install right.
Sincerely,
RockC.
