UK JCW Air Box for MINI

I was breezing round the UK website and noticed that they have a JCW air cleaner for the MINI (not S). What is it supposed to gain, and more important why is it not available in the US?

the entire JCW kit will be avaliable as a dealer installed option on all US Spec 06 Coopers.

What about just the seperate parts? What does the air box do for the MINI?
