Driving home last night the battery light comes on, but the car drove normally. I looked it up in the manual when I arrived home and it said that this could be a charging circuit issue. The belts appear fine under the hood. This morning I turned the car on and the power steering was gone, as was mentioned as a possible issue in the manual.

Anyone have this problem before? And if so what did it turn out to be and how did you pursue the resolution? I'm not willing to risk driving the car 2 hours to the nearest mini dealer in order to get it repaired, and I expect a free rental.

 

i believe mini will tow it to the nearest dealer on a flatbed for you and get you a local rental car. i would call ask mini to clear this up.
