When I roll my windows up and down, I get a horrible squeaking noise. I know that it is the glass rubbing against the felt, but I can't figure out how to stop it. I was thinking about putting a VERY small amount of lube on the felt (something like Vaseline....no jokes please...lol), but then I figured it will leave smears on the glass and would be a ***** to clean off.
Do a search on squeaky windows. it requires removing the door panel. The window felt is not the window guides nor squeak source, so save the vaseline for

Anyone have this problem, and solved it?
Thanks.
I tried some silicone (sprayed on a rag and then applied to the felt to stop the squeeking-- no dice.) Had the door panels off to put LEDs and puddle lights in the door, and decided to REALLY grease the tracks on which the windows slide up and down. Cleaned off what little grease was there and then applied some standard lithium multi-purpose grease LIBERALLY. No more squeaks. (I've heard, though, that in some cases the squeeking may be indicative of failing window motors-- YMMV on this one)

Thanks for the input, i am going to grease the rails tonight. However i am pretty sure in my case that it's not failing windows, as it's been doing it for over a year now!! I guess i just finally got fed up with it
Hey, I like my squeaks, that way I can tell for sure that I am rolling my windows down as I approach the car in the lot sice the remote is not the most reliable.
