JCW Intake / Injector Split Cost
JCW Intake / Injector Split Cost
I am considering buying the JCW Intake. The JCW Intake alone is too expensive for me. The JCW Intake and Injector package is not much more expensive than the Intake alone. Is anyone interested in getting the JCW Package injectors? Splitting the cost would be a good deal for both of us. Package is ~$500 total /2 = $250 for the injectors.
Injectors alone ~$400
Intake alone ~$400
Let me know if you are interested.
I had 3 people PM me around the time that this was first posted. It is earmarked for the ghui (1st person who PMed). But if that falls through I will contact the others who have replied to this thread.
I'll let you all know how it went when the deal is done anx the parts are installed.

Split Dealer Prices for JCW parts
Classic MINI has the Prices as follows:
JCW Intake List Price = $475
NAM Discount = $427.50
JCW Intake and Injector Upgrade Kit List = $560
NAM Discount = $504
Figure $30 Shipping to me and the Injectors to you = $534 /2 = $267 each.
That is a good deal considering otherwise the 4 Injectors are $100 each!!!

The link to the Intake is : http://www.johncooper.co.uk/JohnCoop...me/default.asp?
then click on the "WORKS TUNING KIT" box 1/2 way up on the right side. The Injectors are no shown on that page, but they are known by word-of-mouth and asking the Parts department about what is in the "2005 JCW Intake/Injector Upgrade Kit".

Another interested in splitting cost of JCW Intake / Injectors
I too am considering buying the JCW Intake. Would be interested in splitting the cost of the JCW Upgrade - intake for me, injectors for you. Let me know if interested.

Please explain. If I install the injectors myself, will the dealer remap the ECU, and if so, will there be a cost? Also, if the dealer will remap, can I drive to the dealer with new injectors using the old remap? If all of these are negative, then it seems that the upgrade is a dealer only job.

Thanks for the info. There's a new thread today re: JCW air intake. There is a vacuum canister that operates the intake door at WOT. DO you know if this is part of the upgrade?
The dealer is charging about $400.00
above the parts price to do the install. Sounds like I may be stuck
unless they'll be gracious about doing a free remap.

I would say that 1.5 hours is about right if you do it yourself.
The hardest part is making the vacuum connection at the bypass valve body. Also make sure that you have a full selection of Torx drivers/bits. 20, 25, 30, etc.
Also the crimp connectors that they provide (1 plus a spare) are too big and you should use a smaller blue type.
