The air bag light came on in my MCC today. This stinks, will have to call the dealer tomorrow. Is it safe to be driving with that light on?

My airbag light came on while driving on Day 2 and I thought, "Oh no, here goes." I drove home, shut it off and started it again - no light. Now I'm 600 miles further and I've never seen the light again.

There is a recall on the wiring harnesses... if the light comes on, take it to the dealer.

 

what years does the recal cover ? I have an 05 and my light came on the other day.

 

Got an 08/02 MCS. Airbag light just came on. I never got a recall notice for any wiring harness. Looks like I'll be wasting a day going to the MINI Dealer.

 

yep the wiring harness passenger side...replaced under warranty...i was told this is a common problem, (kinda like the coolant tank problem of the early models), but not widespread enough for a recall....pray that it fails during warranty period.
