Help with DSC

I have an 05 MCS with an unusual problem: The DSC OFF light will not go on when I flick the DSC panel switch. It does comes on & go out when I start up, so I know the bulb is good.
I wonder is the DSC working at all?
I'm seeing the dealer in a couple of days, but would like to have my own input before we meet.
Thanks in advance.

I don't have DSC in my '05 MCS but do have ASC+T so the functionality shoul dbe similar. When the DSC/ASC+T is "active" your dashboard light should not be on. The light is supposed to lit up on the following conditions:

1) System malfunction (For example, light doesn't go out after you turn on the engine)

2) you manually deactivate the DSC/ASC+T via the toggle switch.

The light uses "reverse logic" if you will. Active/normal (Stays off), Malfunction/deactivated via toggle switch (Stays on).

Hope this helps.

That's not what he's talking about.

It threw me the first time too - you have to hold it down (or up) for a second. It's not a flip toggle like the auto down window for example.

Yep, hold down the toggle for a second or two and the light will come on or off. If you really want to test it, find a patch of water, and accelerate hard from it so that your wheels spin. You'll see the light come on, and you'll feel the lag in the engine. I routinely turn off my DSC when I'm starting off on to a street with water or loose dirt.

Thanks for the input. Sounds like I need to hold the switch & not just flick it. I'll advise if the problem still exists, but it sounds like you're right.
Thanks Again.

Turns out it was a defective switch. They replaced the panel and all seems OK now.
