Service Campaign?

I just received a letter from my local BMW dealer stating I am due for a service update campaign #0011020200.

I've received the ones for the ECU update (04E-A01) and the crankcase breather (04E-A03). Anybody hear of this number and what it is? Is this a Bimmer TSB? If it is, I don't own a BMW (literally).

I tried searching here and Google, but didn't find anything remotely close to that number.

Thanks!

Sounds like the ECU V39.2 update campaign to address emissions issues. That campaign was issued late last summer or early fall. You do need to do it if you live in California.

If you don't live in CA, you should do it to keep current with the changes that come down the pike. But be aware that some folks have had rough idle problems with V39.2 and others have found V39.2 offers a great improvement over V.38. I am one of the folks who saw a great improvement.

FWIW,

Theo

I believe the emissions update was ECU update (04E-A01).
I just don't understand the numeration. It doesn't match any of the MINI TSB's.

We just got a letter about a service update as well. Its not regarding the v39.2 update (got that letter months ago). I don't have the letter with me. I'll check the number and see if its the same. We're not sure what MINI its for... the totaled one or one of the two we have now

Just got off the phone with the service manager for Fields BMW.
Apparently I have a very rare MINI. It must have been conceived in a secret place or is one that should not have been released.

The service notice I received is for a 2003 M3! Didn't get the details, but I always thought my car had a little more oomph to it!
Father was an M3, mother was a MINI....and I got the offspring!
