What cable is this?

Have a "new to me" 2006 R-53 - w/ HK audio. Purtty sure its stock system with the H/K speakers in the doors. However, I'm not sure if it's sounding correcty. I've confirmed the amp is mounted in the rear passenger side compartment. I've noticed a lose cable hanging down from below the glove box.
(See Picture - Sorry for the large size - Not sure how to add pictures)

Cable hanging down from glove box.

Questions:
  1. What is this for?
  2. Is it for a 6 Disc CD changer?
  3. Should it be plugged into the back of the radio?
  4. Does it goto the H/K amp?
  5. If it;s for the H/K amp, will the radio still work if it's not plugged in?
TIA for any information

I don’t know what it goes to, but it’s not the glovebox light. It has too many conductors and the wrong connector.

Many Mini’s are equipped with footwell lighting.
Look for a light under the dash (not inside the glove box) on both passenger and drivers side
in the upper footwell. Open the doors and see if a light comes on in the footwell for either drivers or passenger side. If only one comes on, you’ll know that it’s for the light that’s not illuminated.
or
Include a better photo image of the connector end so that the members that have seen this before can assist you better.
