2007 Throttle Body Issue
2007 Throttle Body Issue
I have used this site so much as a non member while workingontis car, tons of great advise. However my searches lately hasn't produced the answer I was looking for.
I am working on my 2007 Cooper S R56 Turbo with about 137k miles. I needed to replace the leaking cross over coolant pipe, so to give myself more room I took off the intake manifold with the throttle body (original TB to car) attached. Since I had it all apart I figured I would clean out the TB, however when doing so I manually moved the gate inside the TB to throughly clean it. At the time I did not realize this was a no no. Once I got it all back together and fired it up it was running like crap almost stalled and threw me a bunch of TB codes (2B32, 2B31, 2B1E, 2B2B, 2B22) and went into limp mode. I have tried all of the non scanner options to re code it but have not had any success.
My question is should I just replace the TB since it is original? If so will I still need to re code the new one to the car?
Also does anyone know of a scanner tool that will re code at TB to Minis that costs less than $500?
Good news it that it doesn't leak coolant any more, I installed the ECS aluminum pipe, as Mini should have originally.

Thanks for the order!
Yep you might need to recalibate the TB. I hope you did not damage or jump a tooth on the gear. If you did that it needs replaced.
Try this first.

Or
To reset the MINI Coopers throttle body please make sure the ignition is Turned Off. Press the Gas Pedal to Full Throttle while the ignition is off. Turn on the Ignition to the 3rd position for 30 seconds. Do Not Crank the Vehicle. Do Not let go of the Throttle. After 30 seconds are over, Turn Ignition Off and Remove Key. Do Not let go of the Throttle. After Key is Removed, let go of the Throttle and wait 30 seconds. After 30 Seconds, the Car can now be Started normally. You have now completed the throttle body adaption reset.
