Mini doesn't start after engine rebuild
Hi,
I have 2008 R52 Mini Cooper S JCW.
I have rebuilt the engine, finished assembly almost a year ago but since then Mini doesn't start (it did before). What have I done:
Another code which I am currently getting is DD which I am not sure what it is fuse for wiper pump - customer cut off (deleting these errors doesn't remove them, it always pops back).
Any help is appreciated. Thank you!

I have rebuilt the engine, finished assembly almost a year ago but since then Mini doesn't start (it did before). What have I done:
- I had to replace crankshaft (that was reason for rebuild at the first place)
- replaced crankshaft bearings
- replaced timing chain
- replaced all but supercharger pulley (supercharger rebuild is pending next year)
- replaced water pump
- replaced oil filter housing
- replaced head
- replaced spark plugs
- replaced all possible sensors on the engine (crankshaft position sensor even twice)
- replaced ECU (bought used and shipped it for reprogramming for my vehicle)
- recent replace: engine main wire harness
- most recent replace: coil and spark plugs cables
Another code which I am currently getting is DD which I am not sure what it is fuse for wiper pump - customer cut off (deleting these errors doesn't remove them, it always pops back).

Old ECU was faulty hence the replacement. I was told if I would put the original ECU in the car, the EWS would lock so I don't want to risk that.
Where did you get the new ECU from? Was it keyed to your specific VIN? I don't understand why reinstalling the original ECU would cause the EWS system to lock. Seems that could be what is preventing starting now. I have a facelift ECU that I bought from a fellow NAMer with the JCW 210 tune on it - it had to be reprogrammed for my specific VIN so that the system recognizes that ECU as 'self' - if it doesn't, then you essentially get donor organ rejection. I could reinstall my OG ECU and it would work completely fine - which is honestly the weirdest part of what you are saying, at least to me.

Crankshaft position sensor fault after you have replaced the crankshaft? Since the crankshaft position sensor reads the crankshaft position by the reluctor wheel on the back of the crankshaft inside the crankcase, is it possible the reluctor is damaged in any way? Is the crankshaft correct for that specific engine?
Also, since you've replaced the engine wire harness, I would focus on the crankshaft position sensor circuit. Verify the sensor terminals are correct, verify they are correct at the engine computer (I don't know what the acronym is) and the circuit between the 2 is intact.
