Bonnet heat sheld

I just got my Pro Mini stress bar in today and after installing i found that the bonnet is now pushed up just a bit because of the bonnet hitting the stress bar. I was wondering if anyone has removed the heat sheld from under the bonnet, and if so in any way did that hurt the paint on the bonnet forn the motor heat? I think if I removed the heat sheld that would give me the extra space that I need to clear...

thanks no civic

You might just want to cut a strip out of it. That is what I did for my sprayer tank/motor to fit properly without rubbing and an easy close.
