Not boost, Limp mode, still no code came back

[Trying this sub forum since I didnt get much traction in the main one]

Hi all,

Car is a 2012 with N18 engine, 60k, oil changed regularly and often. Car went into limp mode and I parked and got the scanner out (I have the NT530).
I did get a code “33FE - Engine oil pressure control plausibility static Pressure too low” but then I cleared it and it hasn’t come back.
I couldn’t think of a reason for this, the car had been running fine, just completed a 100+ mile drive prior. Dipstick shows oil is there, up to 3/4 to the top of the dipstick. So I bought a quart and dumped it in and now I dipstick is at full.

Anyway, so I cleared the code and started the car up again - the code did not come back. -and I am still in limp mode, no boost. A little rough start and some oil smoke out the exhaust..not good..but then settled down as I slowly drove again, in limp mode.

So the code did not re-appear, no other check engine light or anything, but I am in limp mode and no boost. Also, revving past 4K RPM creates some weird sounds, like a ‘whizzing’ sound. And the idle is definitely more rough. And oil smoke is still slightly there out the exhaust though oil levels seem fine so whatever is burning oil is not burning much

Not sure where to start on this one. Oil pressure sensor? Oil pump, vanos? I had the oil pressure solenoid issue fixed by a reputable shop about 7k miles ago, so I am assuming it’s not that. Any thoughts on where to begin? Again, there’s no check engine light and no codes, other than the above and that has not re-appeared since I cleared it.

thanks for any suggestions

check your DV. That whizzing sound might be a tear in the rubber of the DV or broken plastic.
