Auto climate control stack goes dead
Auto climate control stack goes dead
The other day the auto climate control stack/cluster in my ‘04 r50 went dead on startup.
Once I got home I shut off the ignition &re-started and it works fine again.
From what I’ve read, it’s not uncommon but the fixes seem to be varied.
mine’s a sunroof car so the most commonly reported source is a bad/corroded connection on an ECU in the left side footwell.
Just curious if anyone’s had & cleared this issue by cleaning/reseating this connector, and if so, if there’s any tips on getting to it and what it looks like.

You have to take the two vertical console covers off or at least loose. Undo the bolts at the too and pull them outward. The AC heat panel just has two torx screw each side and it slides out. Book says to push in one end while pulling out the other side.
If you need more room to get to the connector pull the radio or switch panel.
I have a spare for sale if you need one.
