CBS data not resetting

Hello all,

On my 2008 N12, I have an issue I'm trying to track down. The CBS data, (service notifications), will reset from the BC stalk but upon restart the data shows what it was before and did not actually reset. From my Foxwell NT510 scan tool, it I try to reset it through the scan tool, it comes up with an error. Does anyone know which module that data is stored in? I can't find that info anywhere.

Thank you for your help.

Ivan

In my case, 2010 MCS car diagnostics do not relate to the real world. Vacuum pump froze up and sheared gear off end of cam, resulting in timing chain in bottom of pan and a totaled motor. On board computer check for motor came back CHECK OK. OBD code reader showed 6 or 7 pending codes relating to ignition and valve timing. These were not set codes, some codes will set at 2 occurrences or more, pending is a first time sensors do not match expected parameters.. And no, MINI would not replace a computer that had know idea the vehicle was dead. So Much For Conditioned Based Maintenance.

CBS is controlled by the DME.
Did you try resetting through the instrument cluster?
