Trying to remove aftermarket wheel - IT IS REMOVED-

I am trying to resurrect an 2004 MC40. The car had a "Drag Extreme Wheel" on the right front.

I am am not familiar with this wheel. Where I can it this lug wrench for this bolt? A 17mm socket just pins so I would guess the outside size is 17 and the inner size is unknown. There seems to be 6 of those little cutouts.

Progress has stopped until I can get this right front wheel of. Any help would be appreciated.

Jeff

Thanks for the quick reply:

Yes, that would be an option. This has all four bolts with this type of spline head. It is not a lock, it is a kind of bolt head. I have all four were off the ground and this is the last of the four to take off. I am doing the "front end service mode" thing to replace the water pump, thermostat and oil in the supercharger (and hopefully not the whole supercharger), timing chain, tensioners and crankshaft balancer. seals and gaskets etc. etc. ... So I am pretty much stuck trying to find the right size 6 spline wrench.

Once I find and use this wrench, I will throw it away with the ugly aftermarket wheel hoping to never see such a wheel or wheel mounting system system ever again.

Or, I could just be angry typing and will be fine after I have the appropriately branded candy bar.

Jeff

Yes that is what I need and after looking at them, it seems to come in three sizes. I will make a guess and get the smallest one.

Thanks everyone for the help.

Why do people refuse to disclose their location? I might have one that fits, but not willing to mail it away. I'm in Fairfax Virginia

First off, thank you for the offer. It's not that I refuse to disclose it, it is just that I have not figured out the whole forum profile thing. I will take time today to learn how to include my location in my profile
Sorry for upsetting you.
Now that the forum has helped me find the right socket, I can get the wheel off.

Again, thanks.

Well your profile does say Houston Texas soooo unless that's wrong I don't know what he's talking about. It's all good though. Good luck getting that ugly wheel off.

Well, if you pay shipping, you can have it. It is hard to tell in your picture, but I think your wheels look different. maybe, maybe not. I just need it gone so I can put the gray R90on in its place.

LOL, I'm good thanks I hope they look different as mine are (I think) also R90s To me though they look pretty similar, kind off 90% the same. Anyway, good luck with it!

If it will fit in there, an old mechanics trick is to beat an impact socket onto it and remove as usual.

Impact sockets are softer than a regular socket so that they won’t shatter under the hammering of an impact gun.

It doesn’t have to go on far, the socket will conform to the oddball shape of the nut enough to give a good grip.

Sorry for not responding on this thread. I guess I wrote about it on my MC40 build thread it I figured out it is what is called a "tuner" lug. It took some guessing, but figured out the size. I now have $6 socket I will never use again, and the ugly wheel is off and gone. I sold it to the young man at the [favorite tire store] for $20. Since it cost me $21 to have the tires swapped over to the new wheel and get it balanced, all in all not a bad deal.
