Hello NAM,

My 2007 r56 has factory HID headlights. A week or so ago I got an error on my steering wheel console indicating that there was an issue with one of the headlights. Now when I start the car the headlights will turn on, the left one will turn off, the car will make a beep sound and display the headlight error error, the headlight will turn on and then go through this cycle of off/beep/on, until it then stays on.

Is this a common failure mode for the headlight? What does this indicate? Failing bulb or failing igniter/transformer.

What is the failure mode of a HID headlight?
