Hi. My 2003 Cooper S was throwing code P1237, which is Secondary Upstream Manifold Air Pressure Sensor Low Input. Upon inspection, two of the three wires were very frayed and I believe the bare wire was hitting the metal surround to the after market K&N intake that the previous owner installed. I temporarily wrapped it in electrical tape to protect it and everything seems to be fine, but I would like to repair it the right way. There doesn’t seem to be enough wire on the plug end to splice new wire to it. Does anyone know where or how I can get a new plug to splice to the factory harness, aside from purchasing an entire new donor harness just for this plug? Thanks in advance.
Hi, Bryan...thank you again for this link. I just received it and the problem is that this has four wires connected to the connector...as shown in my pic, mine has only three. From my searches, it seems to be because my problem is with the SECONDARY UPSTREAM MAP sensor., and not the primary. I believe the primary has 4 wires. Of course, I cannot find a three wire plug for the Mini that looks like mine in the picture. Now, the sensor itself seems to have 4 pins (see picture) and there seems to be a cap on the area where the second wire from right would come out of the connector. Can I simply not use the second wire from right on the new connector?
Any ideas?
Just use the three wires of the four wire connector that you just got. Cut or tape off the one wire that you don't use. Nobody is going to make a three wire connector, it's not cost effective when the four wire connector will fit both sensors
