Automatic transmission temp range?
Automatic transmission temp range?
2010 MCS Camden, Aisin auto.
Just completed major overhaul (head, coolant system, chains, etc.), including changing ATF and filter.
When I did the fill procedure, monitoring ATF temp with scan tool, I noticed that the temp went higher than the specified range (35 to 45 C) quite quickly. I thought this might be due to not "burping" the coolant system enough so I did it again, twice.
On a brief test drive, ATF temp went to 90C at which point I stopped.
My two best ideas right now are:
1. Faulty temp sensor (anyone know where it is and how to test it?)
2. Faulty/clogged ATF cooler.
Before I tear into this thing again, does anyone have any suggestions?
