A/C stopped working after changing stereo, HELP!
2007 R56 Base N12 105k miles.
I had to change the stereo display in the car. Removed the center column and stereo and replaced the display unit.
After putting everything back together, the AC light does not turn on and the clutch is not engaging.
Not sure how to test the pressure switch since it is three wires. Which two wires do I short to bypass?
I only have a cheap wireless dongle that shows the AC button changing state (button works) when pushed, but does not latch on and no AC light comes on.
I understand basic AC principals, but I did nothing to the system except remove the wire harness from the back of the controls when removing the center column. Everything worked fine right before this. The fan motor turns on, the blower runs, everything else works as normal, but light for clutch doesn’t turn on. Hooked up refrigerant can and pressure is high (normal when compressor is not engaged and running). I looked at the fuses in the kick panel and under the hood and all are good.
Any suggestions to manually bypass the pressure switch (which of the three wires to cross) or the compressor (which wire to supply 12v to engage clutch. Do i need to ground the other) to eliminate those.
Thanks!!
Tim

Something simple has likely gone wrong, best dive back into what you did when you unhooked it and ensure all the hookups are right at the button again, assuming you haven't already, sounds like the wire just isn't connected.
