R56 air filter box coming loose during rallycross
R56 air filter box coming loose during rallycross
Running a 2007 R56 in rallycross and having an issue with the air filter box coming loose at the bottom grommets. Looking for way to hold the box in place. Thanks for any input.
FYI - On my U.S. 2009 MCS, while air filter housing/box sits in rubber grommets, it is held down by one captive-screw on paassnger side of air box. If my air box was disloging from grommets, first thing I would check is that one captive-screw is there and tight.
Good Luck...

Thanks for the suggestion, but after a couple events, not only will the grommet connections come loose, but the screwed connection splits too. You end up using zip ties and duct tape to keep parts of the car intact including the engine. I may have to manufacture some type of hold down clamp.
Yep, and those grommets like to work there way out, see if one of them is cracked or popped out.

Thanks for the response, but due to all the bouncing around, all the grommets pop up. This system wasn't designed for this type of abuse. This issue won't be resolved by conventional means. Just curious if someone else runs rallycross and came up with a solution.
