Exterior door/window trim

I need to remove the chrome strip at the top of the door (bottom of window, above the handle) to correct a small dent. I thought it simply pulled straight up but mine will not dislodge. Is there a trick?

The door trim does indeed pull straight up. It has clips that grip the top edge of the door.

Start from the end above the door handle and slowly work towards the front. Probably stuck a bit due to time and maybe some dirt.

Yep, its tight on the door. They pinch on the door and with a trim tool kit I seen them stick due to being installed on a new paint job on a door panel and they installed them nd did not let the paint cure for days.

One thing to watch for is those plastic caps at the end, they break easily. I rolled down the window and started from the door handle side. If you still have issues, pulling the door panel might help, it's 4 bolts (1 behind the reflector, mine was missing)

Mod Mini on youtube has great vids, heres one for the window reg replacement and he shows how to pop the trim off here:
