2004 R53 won’t rev past 3k rpms
I have a 2004 R53 no lights are on other than the air bag light from steering wheel install I did. Car runs perfect and sounds normal other than it stops at 3k rpm. Drove the car to work which was an hour drive and no issues and no lights just won’t go past that mark. Any help would be appreciated
Ok so only fixed it for a couple days don’t why or what’s wrong anyone else had these issues of running perfect til 3k rpm then it stops. I have replaced both map sensors, throttle body, 02 sensors, crank pulley, bypass valve, and hooked up to scanner to log while driving nothing looks wrong and no codes are shown just won’t go pay 3k rpms

Possibly a slipping belt or...
If your Mini still has the factory (OE/OEM) rubber core crank pulley - it could possibly be that the center rubber core has split from the outer metal portion where the belt rides.
In this case - the two halves are separated causing the crank to spin but not the belt.
EDIT: BTW - from my experience; A faulty or failing crank pulley or slipping belt may not show up as a fault with an OBDII reader.

Does it refuse to rev past 3K in lower gears as you try to accelerate or only when speeding up from top gears? A plugged converter could restrict the engine from speeding up. Or something as simple as a carpet (or something else) stuck under the gas pedal.
