New to the thread.

My 2009 Mini Cooper S R56 (automatic) won’t crank. When I insert the fob it greets me with a tune, I put my foot on the break, hit the start button and the starter doesn’t crank. I hear a few clicks in the dash (behind the start button) and a relay click on the right side of the passenger floor. I check the battery terminals, battery charge, and even pulled the starter to have checked. The starter came back good and everything else was tight and charged. No idea where to go from here.

 

How old is the battery?

I had a similar case with my mini. Although mine would start on most cases, but out of the blue it wont. I also tested the starter on the bench and it was operable! I replaced it anyway and haven't had an issue so far.
