Not Starting

I started a new thread because the issue is not what I suspected with the automatic gear selector. Here's what's happening now. I removed negative battery cable and put it back on tightly. Also checked the ground cable at the motor mount. Went back to start and got some lights I never saw before. First got some airbag lights in red this was strange then saw and orange key light. Tried to start it and hear a couple clicks from passenger side and no crank. I pulled out key put it back in and this time I saw no lights whatsoever. Tried to start anyway and heard clicking from passenger side. This time the clicking goes nonstop. Tried pushing start button again to stop the clicking noise but that didn't work. I pulled the key out and clicking noise continued. I had to disconnect the negative battery cable to get the clicking to stop. When reconnecting battery the clicking noise resumed. I disconnected battery once again. So I clearly have a short in the system. Some kind of electrical issue. I have no idea where to start. Any suggestions?

I double checked battery. Couldve sworn I had 12.8 volts yesterday. 12.1 is what I got now. Would a low battery act as described above?

Sounds like the battery to me. Voltage is not a good indicator of battery health, how old is it?

Yeah battery is about 5 years old. My factory battery last about 6 six years. Also it didn't do any of this wacky stuff last time. Im gonna change the battery and see what happens.
