Drove the wife's Mini last night and put the heater on but there's no hot air coming out. It runs fine and has not lost any water and isn't overheating and both the pipes going in and out of the heater matrix seem as hot as the water pipes on the radiator? The car has digital climate control but that all seems to be working as does the fan and the front windscreen defrost kicks in on full power but again no hot air? Any ideas?

 

I believe its the thermostat. I had mine fixed twice. First under warranty, second time with the new “fix” that MINI brought out.

in my case If I recall, the engine fan was running the whole time

 

Air is coming out thought right?
Check fuses to be sure that any air diverter is working correctly to throw the air over the inside heater core, and fan is working, but yeah, probably the thermostat.

 

Thanks for teh replies. Its working again now. I played around with the vents etc and it started blowing hot and adjusting the digital temp gauge would alter the heat output? So now i#m not sure f it was a flap sticking or the thermostat sticking. I'll scan it to see if there's any low temp codes stored, but if not i guess ill have to just monitor it for now?!
