2008 mini S Boost solenoid (pressure converter)

Bought this mini a week ago. 117K . No boost at first . Reduced power half yellow engine light plus P 1497 codes . Found a cracked valve cover . Replaced the valve cover . Found pcv line cracked in many places . Fixed pcv line. Ran a smoke test and the only thing that smoked a little was the boost solenoid. Tied the 2 vacuum lines together and I had boost for the first time but seems like the wastegate would open up and dump randomly. Replaced boost solenoid and put lines back and no boost . Getting the p1497 code and a P0420 code . I also put on a new divergent valve today also. HELP APPRECIATED !!!

Did you have any luck solving your problem? I seem to be having the same issue. I have vacuum at the boost solenoid but as soon as it pass it through the device nothing. And if I use a hand pump on the waste gate it all works fine. I have changed the boost solenoid and still nothing.

yes I figured it out . The previous owner had switched the plugs for the boost solenoid and the fuel vapor solenoid . There’s another solenoid there that’s attached to a hard line that sits on the same metal bracket on the intake. The plugs will interchange . Switch the plugs and see if that fixes your problem .
