New motor in new (to me) car. 9E2C time-out Telegram and 9E2E time-out device status
Hello everyone,
I just installed a new motor in a 2007 mini Cooper base model(R56). After starting it back up I continually get a 9E2C multifunction steering wheel time out telegram and a 9E2E multifunction steering wheel time out device status.
I don’t know whether the codes were in there before I put the motor in as I bought it without a motor.
It is an automatic with automatic paddle shifters but no steering controls.
Can anyone point me in the correct direction as to where to look.
The car starts fine seems to run OK and there is no issues with any of the control stalks, washers, lights, turn signals, etc all work properly.
From what I can tell it does not look like the steering column was separated. The motor was pulled from the top and the transmission was left in the car.
Upon start the check engine light goes away in the car seems to run fine.
Also just discovered when the car is in Neutral, there is an orange warning with a double arrow showing.
Any help is appreciated,
thanks
tim

You need to verify the options on the car and MFSW is one of them or not. It might've been replaced for whatever reason.
The car with double arrow is the symbol for car in N. Usually it appears when you forget it in N and turn off the car. Similarly, if you start the car when it is in N, it would show that, i believe.
Check the shifter cable and verify it's in the correct position.

No, I never solved this but I think it might be looking for the steering wheel buttons and they did not exist on this car.
Funny thing is that my tire pressure sensors never displayed an error and I had no sensors. After the battery died, I get the tire pressure sensor warning constantly now.
