Stock Problems/IssuesDiscussions related to warranty related issues and repairs, or other problems with the OEM parts and software for MINI Clubman (R55), Cooper and Cooper S(R56), and Cabrio (R57).
My new-to-me R56 has the cluster lit up with ABS issues and is throwing a CEL (P0503) related to a speed sensor issue. My first inclination is to think that it's a wheel speed sensor issue. Before trying to replace sensors at random, I figured I'd try to see if there was a particular sensor that was showing an issue. I tried reading the ABS with the C110 Creator scanner that I recently acquired, and it's complaining about a communications error. That leads me to believe that the issue might be a bit more involved. I've never used this scanner before, though, and it not communicating may be a red herring. Can anyone confirm that theirs does work when trying to connect to the ABS and read the data stream?
Any other ideas for what I could try to narrow it down a bit before giving in and taking it in to the shop?
