MacPherson "plus" suspension
MacPherson "plus" suspension
Pulled up the VIN on my 2004 MC40 and the build specs detail a MacPherson "Plus" suspension. That description and logic tell me that the spring rates may be a bit higher. Since the MC40 is a nod to the 1964 Monte Carlo rally winner, it sort of makes sense that the suspension might be more race-like. It does ride stiff but I've not driven another so have no point of comparison. Does anyone have a definitive explanation for the "Plus" designation?
The sport suspension plus was the standard suspension for all R53s and optional on the R50. Slightly higher spring rates and bigger sway bars than the sport suspension that came standard on the R50.
