P101f

R52 Cabrio, Stock NA. I have a recurring P101F error causing the engine light to come on. I can't seem to find any common discussion on this topic and from what I've gathered here and bmw forums is that it likely has to do with air intake. The car starts and runs like a champ otherwise. Any idea where to start troubleshooting?

I am thinking that code has to do with the outside air temp sensor that is located behind the bumper to the right of the chrome trim as you are looking at the car.

Would the outside temp sensor trip the CEL? I have a feeling it might be something more serious. My cabrio doesn't have a temp display in the cabin so it's hard to tell if that's even an issue.

That code relates to the outside air temp. That temp sensor is located behind the bumper as I noted above.

It will be logical to assume that the ECU factors in the outside air temp with fuel mixture.

Finally changed the temp sensor and it did resolve the CEL issue. I found the old sensor hanging loose with a 90 degree bend in it. Thanks.
