2009 JCW N14 won't prime or turn over.
I have this issue out of the blue. I went to dinner one night, and upon the first start, the foot on pedal symbol appeared and the car stopped turning over. I pushed the clutch down a little harder and pushed the start button once again and it started fine. Went to dinner and it started again no problem for the return trip. Next morning tried starting it and nothing happened. Lights came on but no starter or fuel pump prime. Looked under the dash for the clutch safety switch and it was firmly in place with a cable tie around it. The foot on pedal symbol came on upon removal of the key fob again. So I put the key back in and pushed the clutch down harder and still nothing. Removed the key, closed the door, locked it and tried everything over again. Noticed when I unlocked the car the obvious pump prime was not there. Still I put the key fob in the ignition and lights came on but not a whisper from the starter or fuel pump. The foot on pedal light returned so I figured maybe the clutch safety switch was broken. I replaced it a couple days later and still the same problem. I checked fuses and relays under the hood, all good there. I also replaced the battery as it was 4 years old and that did nothing as well. I have looked through the forum and have not found a similar issue. Most are: turns over but won't start, or won't do anything or other random issues. Anyone have any idea what this could be? It has to be something really simple. It can't be the starter and the fuel pump went out at the same time.
Since you have the foot pedal symbol coming up, you can get a code out of the symbol. Here's a video on how to get the code.
Here's a site to find what the code means. http://mr-fix.info/bmw-cc-id-codes-f...ning-messages/
You can also get a Bluetooth/Wifi OBD2 reader and get the torque app for android and be able to read any codes the car might be spitting out to help diagnose what's going on.
