Rubbing sound when starting off from front
Rubbing sound when starting off from front
I replaced tires recently and hear a rubbing sound from the front when the car is cold and just starting off. The tires are a very sticky compound. The wheel bearings are fine (rocked tire up down left right test) and clearance to coilovers is plentiful. Any ideas? Could it be coming from farther in off the axle, like the inner bearing? Common issue? I dont see any tears in the dust cover for the axles.
Did you get anywhere with this? I have the same issue. 2006 JCW 140k miles. Cold start, drive off in a turn and it’s a rubbing with a low groan. Brief but noticeable. Seems to go away when it heats up. Clutch and flywheeel are relatively new. Axles both rebuilt. LSD maybe?
