A few weeks ago my car had a knocking noise coming from the valve cover near were the timing chain is located when I press the gas slightly, I thought was the timing chain so I replaced the timing chain, guides (which was broken), sprocket and tensioner, but the noise continued, next I put a washer as a spacer for the timing chain tensioner( last year I had to replace the engine head), and again the noise continued, last thing that I did was to replace the oil pump... and the Knocking NOISE continued!!!!! I don't know what it can be... my car has 110k miles. Besides that everything else works perfect... and when I press the gas normally I don't hear any knocking noise. Its only when you are pressing the gas slightly... any possible answer??? thanks!!!

 

This sounds dumb, but check all your spark plugs torque. They have a habit of loosening up especially on cylinder 2 or 3.

 

disgruntledcow - I did and nothing, this weekend I was thinking check the lifters... it happens the car overdrives too... its frustrating... thanks for the advice.
