does antenna just unscrew?

Simple question I didn't find in the archives - does antenna just unscrew? I don't want to break it, but it would be nice to be able to use a cover on the Mini.

Get yourself a stubby antenna and you won't have to worry about it again. There are other manufacturers, but here's an example of a quality part.

Yep, some car covers like from MINI have the bump out for the stock antenna.
