Smells during hard acceleration

Hello everyone I have has this problem for a long time and I never thought about posting on a forum on what could be the issue. It is only under hard acceleration that I smell a burning kind of smell. That might not be what it is but all I know is that Iit shouldn't make a smell during hard acceleration. Any thoughts?

I had a similar problem on my third gen Mini. Turned out to be a very small exhaust leak between the mid-pipe joints. The smell only surfaced after WOT and not during normal driving. Check your exhaust pipes for leaks.

How many miles on the car? When did you change the passenger side motor mount last? I would check the connection/flange at the precat on the exhaust.

I'm trying to chase down the same thing.

Strong smell of burning oil or uncatalyzed exhaust under WOT. There doesn't seem to be an exhaust leak since the car is whisper quiet.

Only happens when the AC is not on (can't smell it if it's on). Comes through the vents.

Not sure if it's a belt burning up, an exhaust leak or a PVC problem.

Car is a 2006 Mini Cooper S manual.

I second the idea on the crank damper/pulley.

Have you ever found out what it was? Same exact thing in my 06 Cooper S.

Thank you!
