Jesus. We are talking about bolts snapping because of corrosion on a car that is probably less than 15 years old. Does anyone else see a problem with this?

I do wonder if there's more now due to using different metals. "back in the day" wasn't steel primarily used for damn near everything? More galvanic corrosion now?

Rust never sleeps. So no different in the good ole days. Actually, cars are infinitely better nowadays for corrosion control these days than yesterdecade. Road salt ate my lovely Fiat 124 Sport in one year back in the days.
12 years is an eon for galvanized steel and the zinc etc has long scarified themselves , so only love bonding between two steel parts. Till death do we part.
