06 p1125

So my 06 mcs (6 spd manual) has been throwing a p1125 intermittently (with no other codes,) obviously it goes into limp in.

My opinion is that it is one of two things:

1.) worn contacts on the throttle position sensors - hence it needs a new throttle body

2.) bad contact in the electrical connector or wiring harness problem.

My questions are:

Who has had this happen and what was you fix?
If you replace the throttle body how do you relearn the adaptives (limits of the throttle body) in the ECU?

thanks

Some of my tech info say the likely cause is "wiring, throttle motor position sensor." Do not know if you can check/replace just that sensor or will need to replace the entire unit.

Should get some others with allot more knowledge to chime in.

So I put a new throttle body on it, bought a vdo part. Disconnected the battery to force adaptive relearn and haven’t, knock on wood, had a problem since. Keeping my fingers crossed. Wiring harness looked good, as did the pins in the connector.

Both the throttle body and wiring harness are failure points, but the throttle body was a much more prominent problem than the harness.

I've also run into situations where the connector just didn't make proper contact when it was plugged in and just needed cleaned out and reinstalled.

nkfry,

I had reset the connector and cleaned it prior, and still had the problem. Thanks for the insight to complete this thread.
