2011 Cooper S - $1385 for Resealing oil filter housing?
2011 Cooper S - $1385 for Resealing oil filter housing?
My parents took the Mini Cooper S 2011 to the local dealership service and then got charged $1385 for a oil filter housing fix.
$276.14 for parts (Two gasket sets, one O-ring, Flat gasket, oil pipe, gasket ring, hose clamp, flange nut, and brake cleaner).
Then $1109 for labor
It felt very high and Id rather find another local dealership shop in the future if they are giving my parents an overpriced fix.

Find an indy shop and then shop online with us to get discounted parts.
When looking for an indy shop if they work on BMW's they will most likely know working on MINIs. Quick google search in your area should pick up a couple shops.

Sounds about right, I was quoted around $1200 for the same repair. I bought the super turbo oil line kit from Detroit Tuned which includes the oil filter housing gasket and then did the repair myself over a full weekend. It was a pain in the *** but spending 200 on parts instead of 1200 made it worth it. Plus, I was able to spend that money on a catless DP and intercooler
That's about avg at the dealer I was quoted 1300. they charge 140 per hr for labor at my stealership and it is a time consuming process but I was quoted $800 at another shop with lower labor rates.

That is a bit high. We charge 450 all day long in labor, add in a DT TOL Super Kit, and some other need parts your going to be 620-700 easy.
