Mystery part from engine bay

Can anyone help identify this part that is "left-over" from the carnage of a clutch swap? I can't find anything that looks like it on realoem, and the numbers on the part don't come up. Thanks!!

Looks like something that would hold cables away from hot engine parts, but that's just a guess.

I'll agree with you, I'm just hoping to get a closer approximation than "somewhere in the engine compartment"

It's always an opportunity on jobs like this to discover extraneous parts and fasteners that were only making the car heavier.

Sorry to revive an old post, but I'm about to reassemble my front end and this dumb part was part of the reason so much oil go into my clutch area when axle seals got pretty bad.

It seems to hold in there ok, but I noticed in your pics of the part there's a spring included and I don't see that on real oem and didn't find one floating around when I removed it... Any idea where that mounts? I'm guessing that would've kept it tighter to the bell housing and sealed a bit better than kinda flapping around, just can't find any pics or examples of how it's connected.

Hah, well of course i just ordered another cause I assumed mine was missing. Apparently you guys won't even get it for another couple weeks so not gonna work anyways I guess. Guess I gotta call to cancel it as I don't se a button. Thanks for clearing that up though. Some of these mini parts and explanations don't have the info and depth I'm used to online cause people just usually buy a new car when they break :D
