Upper grill won't tighten

My upper grill is loose and when I checked those crappy nuts just don't stay tight anymore and a few are missing. Anyone have any tips/tricks to getting it tight again?

When I install the Aero grille kit I put a small bead of black RTV on the nuts after I installed them. Those nuts aren't the greatest when it comes to retention, 5 years later and the grille is still just as tight as ever on my MINI.

I think I need to get an Aero grill...I'm keeping the rest of the chrome on my car, but there's just something about the chrome surround on the grill that is too much.

Some modifications are needed to the standard bumper to have the lower portion of the factory aero grille fit flush.

There's are aftermarket aero grill available that "bolt on", but the grille mesh is in the pattern of the 2nd gen aero grille. Not a huge deal, but the mesh won't match the large grille at the bottom of the bumper.
