2008 Base Hatch won't Idle

I have 145K mi on my 08 Base hatch. It was making a noise on cold start ups that I thought was a weak timing chain tensioner. I removed and inspected the tensioner. It did seem a little weak. I exercised, and reinstalled. Now the car won't idle. I pulled it apart again to check my work, but didn't see anything wrong. I reinstalled, but the car still isn't running right. What did I do wrong? Any thoughts would be appreciated.

you cannot just pull the tensioner!!!

you might have push it out of timing. remove the valve cover and turn the car by hand to see if the cams align or not. at the end of each cam, there is the locking tool place. the curved edge should be at the bottom and writing in the middle of the cams facing upward.
place sticks through the spark plug holes to see if they align.

post pix as you go.

where you located?

Problem solved. The crank case to intake hose cracked when I moved it out of the way to remove the tensioner. It must have been partially leaking for a while. New tensioner is on order. Thanks.
