10k mile service?

The counter on my car says I got about 1100 miles left for my service but I only have 6600 or so miles on it. Does this all depend on how I drive it?Also what exaclty do they do in this service? And will it make a difference or will they say something about me installing a K&N Typhoon, spark plug wires and new coil? Should I change them back before I take it in?

It does depend on how you drive somewhat, can't help with the mods.
But you will get a oil change, general fluid check, while up on the lift they will look at the brakes, and look for anything amiss.

--->miniotto: I'd like to hear more about your driving situation and style. How much do you drive daily, how far, performance style, etc. Yours has got to be the first I've heard of that that 10k counter is way before 10k. The only thing I can think of is you drive 0.5 mile when the engine is cold only, and have the throttle floored from key-on to key-off and never have it below 4500 RPM!

With the service interval it generally depend on the type of driving you do.

It sounds to me like you drive it like you stole it!!

Stop and go vs. alot of freeway will trigger shorter service intervals!

That puts you at 7700 projected. By the time you get there it will probably be more like 8000.

Just for some perspective I believe Randy Webb had his first scheduled servicing at 5,000 or 6,000.

The service department in Indy did not say anything to me about my modifications. I would just leave 'em on there and not say anything about them.
