02 transmission problem..

02 transmission problem..

All stock Mini non s. Was at a stop light, started to pull away and went from 1st to 2nd gear. It popped out of gear and now I have 1st, 3rd and 5 gear?? Lost 2nd 4th and reverse. Any help would be appreciated!

Pop out of gear is typical symptom of a manual transmission problem, unless it is a shift linkage problem. Not much you can do except to have the transmission rebuilt or replaced.

You are going to have to take it out and apart. It sounds like the shift pal bolt cam out or sheared.
Most likely something minor like this, but a pita to fix!

If you are to keep the car - do the 6speed swap and be done with the transmission problems. Rebuilding the Midlands is a waste of money - ask me how I know... Spend the extra and do the 6-speed swap. just my $0.02.
