Hello! I have a 2006 automatic base (non-S) that needs a new transmission. It only has 34,000 miles so I'm desperate to fix it. I can't afford to repair it, since it's been estimated to cost $6000, which is what I paid for the car a year ago. So, my question is what type of transmissions (year? trims? etc.?) from other Coopers would work/be compatible with my car?

You could get an automatic transmission from the following mini coopers:
2002-2006 Mini Cooper R50
2005-2008 Cabrio R52
