Engine Malfunction - Reduced Power
Engine Malfunction - Reduced Power
I just returned from a 5 day trip during which my 2011 Clubbie S sat in the hot/humid Florida weather. I filled her up with 93 this morning and headed to work. Approximately 7 miles down the road, while accelerating, I received the Engine Malfunction - reduced power message. She began sputtering and I made it to work. Any ideas or suggestions as to what the issue may be?
1) moved this to the proper forum section.
2) It's not just a good idea, it is a GREAT idea to spend a few days to a few weeks reading the forum first before jumping in with your first post.
3) If you had spent some time reading the forum, you'd know a few important things: first, there are many things that can result in the reduced power message; second, the first question anyone trying to help is going to ask is "how many miles?"; third, the next question is going to be "what codes?" meaning what malfunction codes are read via the OBD port.
4) please take the above as helpful and constructive suggestions and I hope I don't sound grumpy.
So -
how many miles?
What codes? (many auto parts shops will read the codes for you for free.)
Post that information and then we can offer advice.
By the way, welcome to NAM!

Since you had just gassed up, could be bad fuel. Friend just had this happen with their 2013 R60. They saved some $ on gas by going to cheap filling station. Problem with those places is that sometimes they get their fuel from sources who get it from old in ground tanks in the process of being replaced. More often than not that fuel contains water, debris which is why the tanks are typically being replaced ( leaks ).
They dumped two containers of HEET antifreeze and a can of seafoam into the MINI fuel tank and drove it for a week before it went away.
Why its safer to purchase fuel at top tier filling stations. You get what you pay for and you KNOW what your getting...
