Another ABS, Wheel Speed, DSC, No Speedometer Dilemma HELP!!!

Ok guys so I am in need of your insight on this issue I’m having. I have been reading around the forums and everyone is having/had a similar issue but not my exact issue, hence the reason I am starting this post/thread so here I go.
So I have a 2009 Mini Cooper Clubman S (R55) and about four months ago, I started my car and my ABS, DSC, and TPM lights all come on at once. My speedo stopped working. And everything just felt sluggish. So thinking it was a random anomaly, I reset the ECU and the lights went away and everything went back to functioning normally. After that the the next few months it would pop up after heavy rain but then like always, Go away after a ECU reset and not appear again for a long time. About a month had passed, and no issues, and during this time, my clutch had gone up in my car. The problem comes back before it goes in for repair, After the repair the issue went away again (The had to disconnect the battery to do the clutch, resetting the ECU)…

And that was the last time the issue went away…

After two weeks, All three lights including the check engine light were on and on for good, Any and every time I attempted a ECU reset at this point, The issue never went away. So I had a standard OBDII reader, and it gave me a P0503, So I figured it was a wheel speed sensor issue, No biggie, You can easily tug on the sensor cable when dropping the subframe ect. So a good friend of mine lent me his BMW/Mini specific code reader (Foxwell NT510) so I could figure out which sensor was faulty. So I did a auto scan, and the module for the DSC disappeared from the autoscan list. So after that I did a system specific diagnostic to see if the reader could find the DSC module. Of Course, the reader couldn’t find the system at all. I tested the Code reader on a similar r55 to see if that was the issues, but it read the system on that car with no problem.

So here I am stuck, I don’t know where to go other than the dealer. At this point I feel like I’m back to square one. I am hoping to reach out the collective knowledge of the Mini Cooper community and get some insight into what to do next.

- Is this a sign of an ECU issue?
- Is it possibly a short in the harness
- Am I missing something obvious like a bad fuse?

I hope I have given you guys enough information to go off of, This has just been really frustrating, and if it’s an expensive fix. I’m not sure its worth investing the money into anymore.. Little Help?!?

So I got that part already, So I was trying to dig deeper to see what wheel speed sensor is acting up, but when did, the diagnostics tool didn't see the ABS/DSC system at all.. Am I missing something with the "Sensor 'A'" part of the trouble code?

Its been a while since have posted on this forum, but I wanted to give you insight to how I ended up resolving my issues with "Three Lights of ABS death" I had been dealing with for a little while. After doing some research I had tracked the issues back to the computer side of the ABS/DSC module... No biggie right? Replace that ABS pump and everything will be fine. Well in a perfect world yes, But looking at the cost of a new ABS pump ($1300 + programing) I was working hard looking for an alternative means of dealing with this issue... And the credit actually goes to my daughter who suggested I looking for a used part. Being that they were programmed, modules I thought that was out of the question. Mini had me feeling like they were vehicle specific. After looking around at a few different used part places, I think I spent a total of $150 for 2 pumps. The first one was the wrong pump it was ASC module and Not a DSC module the my care required. Needless to say that recalling the pump brought my chassis electronics system back to live, The speedometer and milage gauges were working again!!

The only problem was that ABS light turned yellow and would turn off.... ::facepalm::

Then remember what mini told me... these modules are programmed to the specific car. SO after some fun with IDABAS, INPA and NCS Expert I was able to flash the proper VIN Number on to the DSC/ABS module so it could communicate with the rest of the system properly. if anyone is curious how to accomplish that, I can do a write up on that as well. Its fairly straight forward once you have the software installed (Tons of threads about that). But I hope this stops someone else from having the same headaches I did over this... take care!!
