2003 manual transmission on Mini Cooper needs to be replaced

I've been quoted a high price ($6,000) to have the transmission replaced. It's not worth that much. Is there other options besides donating the car or selling the parts?

6K to replace a manual trans Wow. I assume with a new transmission clutch etc?

I assume that includes labor too and is from the dealer? Your best bet would probably be to find one from a junkyard and have it installed or do it yourself if you can.

I bought a used unit with LSD online for $950 and it was a little over a $1000 for installation.
