Replacing knock sensor on '05 Cooper

Unlike the MCS which requires removing the whole front of the car, the regular Cooper JUST requires removing the intake manifold. However, is it possible to replace the knock sensor on a regular Cooper without removing the manifold?

Could a special tool get in there? Is it just a tight fit or does it really require taking the manifold off? Has anybody done this?

The 2005 MINI Cooper is my daughters car and has the CVT transmission. I recently replaced the O2 sensor and now a month later it has an SES light and says P0326 knock sensor.

Thanks,
Peter

I've tried cheat and do it without pulling the manifold, but it's easier to just take the manifold off.
We have the knock sensors in stock if you need
