I have 2004 Mini Cooper automatic transmission (CVT). The car drives fine however sometimes if you go from reverse to drive more than once it will stay in manual shift mode when you put it in Drive. If you turn the car off and turn it back on you can put it in Drive and it will be in Drive. But if you shift it back and forth between Park Drive and reverse more than two times it will stay in manual shift mode again until the car is turned off again. I don't have any codes and when it is stuck in manual shift mode it drives perfectly fine in manual shift however when you put it in drive it still in manual shift mode. Is this because of the shifter assembly going bad?
